Beautiful Golden Hour Rehearsal Dinner at the Oak Steakhouse Skyline Lodge in Highlands North Carolina

Oak Steakhouse at Skyline Lodge - Highlands, North Carolina

B+K decided to have a destination wedding near Highlands, North Carolina, a charming town nestled in the rolling North Carolina mountains. Despite it being only about 2 hours north of Athens, Georgia (my hometown), I had never visited before. Highlands is an amazing destination for weddings and elopements, offering gorgeous mountain views, golf courses, and many wedding venues.

The wedding itself took place at Lonesome Valley which is about 30 minutes up the road from Highlands. Lonesome Valley is also a beautiful spot and is technically located in Sapphire which is right next to Cashiers. The ceremony site is nestled right in the mountains.

As for B+K’s rehearsal dinner, it took place at the Oak Steakhouse, located at Skyline Lodge, right near Highlands. Skyline Lodge was perfect, with the restaurant even having a balcony ideal for group photos with a mountain backdrop. The bride and groom’s closest family and friends shared speeches before dinner, a trend I’ve noticed is becoming more popular at rehearsal dinners instead of at the wedding reception. I think this is a great idea to take some pressure off the main day!

Overall Skyline Lodge is a great venue for any rehearsal dinner, wedding reception, or elopement in Highlands, North Carolina. If you’re looking for wedding venues in Highlands, Cashiers, Franklin or Lonesome Valley …or if you are just looking for any scenic mountain destination for your wedding (or elopement) in North Carolina in general, Skyline Lodge is a great choice. The town of Highlands has the perfect blend of outdoors activities, shopping, and upscale hotels for all your guests.
