Dreamy Golden Hour Desert Family Shoot

Family Shoot in the Desert in Phoenix, Arizona

Phoenix, AZ

I have a soft place in my heart for Phoenix. It’s where I moved out of state for the first time. The first place I truly tried authentic Mexican food. The place where I proposed to my fiancée. That’s why whenever I get the chance, I love making the trek from Salt Lake to Arizona. This was actually my first time doing a paid shoot in the desert, so I was pumped from the get-go to capture the golden hour sun creeping around green, prickly cacti. Kyle and Z had just delivered a beautiful baby boy and were beyond excited to capture their newest family member. They were so excited in fact, they decided to bring the rest of their family (their two doggos) for a full family portrait! -Side Note- I am always down to include pets in my portrait sessions :).

These two wanted a desert shoot, so we decided that McDowell Mountain Regional Park in Northern Scottsdale would be a solid choice. We could not have asked for a better day! There’s just something different about desert sunsets in Arizona.

Check out some images from the shoot below and if you are interested in desert shoots in Southern Utah or even Arizona, submit a form using the link below and we can see if we can figure something out!
