Purple Sunrise Wedding Engagement Session At the Young Living Lavender Fields

Mona, Utah

With just a week’s notice, Talia & Max reached out to me in hopes of securing a last-minute time slot to be able to achieve their dream of doing a wedding engagement session in a lavender field, however all of the desirable afternoon slots were already taken. Therefore we opted to go for a 6am start time and were greeted with an absolutely stunning sunrise. Their love and passion was electric throughout the lavender fields despite the early morning commute.

I set my alarm for 4:50 am, an early morning indeed! The commute from Salt Lake City to Mona Utah (the location of the Young Living Lavender Farm) was about an hour and some change. As I approached Mona, the buildings and side roads straddled along interstate I-15 began to dissipate and farmland appeared. The sun had yet to rise and navigation along the Young Living Lavender Farm was quite difficult in the early twilight darkness. Luckily I found a Young Living security guard, and he instructed me on where to park amongst the lavender fields. I found Max and Talia and we headed towards his direction. The early morning dew in Mona caused the soil to turn into mud and I must admit that my car stalled along the unpaved farmland road.

I had my doubts on how prominent the lavender would be in the expanse of the farm, but I was blown away! The incredible purple hues of the growing lavender was quite the sight. I couldn’t believe that we were actually about to do a wedding engagement shoot here! I have traveled all over Salt Lake City and Utah for wedding engagement sessions but this one was quite special! Talia & Max’s wedding was only a few months away and you could tell by the energy they had for one another despite the early morning in Mona. The sun rose over the flanking mountains facing the Young Living lavender fields and gifted us with a stunning sunrise. It is mornings like this that remind me how lucky I am to live in beautiful Utah.
