Park City Twilight Blue Hour Magic

Engaged Couple Smiling In Front Of Moon

Guardsman Pass - Park City, Utah

Located near Park City, Utah, Guardsman Pass is a seasonal road that connects Park City in one direction to Heber City and Midway (through Wasatch State Park), and in another direction to Solitude and Brighton Ski Resorts. This road opens when the snow melts in the spring and is open until usually November. In the fall, this location provides the perfect vista for fall leaves. Given that this shoot took place in early September, we were too early for autumn colors, but instead we were surprised with a beautiful pink and blue sunset against the backdrop of green aspens, which is a wedding photographer’s dream.

Brittany and Matt were an awesome couple to work with! We were out there taking engagement photos well past sunset. We got started a little later than planned actually. I usually like to shoot around golden hour, but once the sun went down, the lighting was still beautiful and gave some of the photos a soft blue hour glow. I love recommending Guardsman Pass to my clients! This location is such an easy drive from Park City, just minutes away! It’s also located right next to Deer Valley Ski Resort; in fact, on the way, you drive right past Deer Valley’s famous five star luxury resort The Montage!
